I did know a few gay guys in my early 20s, but they were few and far between. Now and then I would hear that a celebrity who had died had been homosexual - but that information was not released publically until they did die. I was really shocked about Raymond Burr (Perry Mason)--but not at all shocked about many of the others.
The important thing is that people respect each other, regardless of what their beliefs (in any area) are. I do believe that gays should be allowed to marry--why should they not have the benefits that any other couple gets...if you were born a homo then maybe some people were born homophobic. If they would not make such a fuss about it.......I don't care what you do behind doors, why do people have to put up a red flag to announce it? Like the marches, and all the parades. and equal rights. well i'm sick of it. shut up. and live your life, and I will live mine.....keeping who I sleep with privateMany reasons make us homophobic: Preference for tradition, love of families, aversion to SERIOUSLY abnormal behavior, interests, relations, and style preferences, and disgust for poor hygiene practices. Other reasons also play into our disgust, but these seem to be the foundational reasons behind them.
