Intensification of agriculture?

could you please help me with a list of the pro's and con's of the intensification of agriculture on the natural landscape, soil and ecology. (this doesn't have to be limited to the uk)

for example, a negative impact on ecology is the removal of hedgerows leading to the loss of natural habitats.

Please could you guys help improve my list ready for my a-level geography exam?

Thankscons
loss of wildlife habitats and natural corridors
machinery in LEDC's may take over manual workers, therefore less jobs for poorer people. fertilisers may go into the water courses and so cause eutrophication (algae plumbs on the surface which cut down oxygen in the water and kill the fish). environmental degradation, GM crops

pros
more food production
the green revolution
higher yields
mono culture-easy to harvest

sorry i cant think of any more, best of luck :)
